Below are a series of several questions we've received over the last few days. In order to better inform all our patrons we've taken the most common questions and provided answers below. Please read through this page before trying to contact us with your questions.

It is our expectation that everyone sample responsibly. All Brewers and exhibitors reserved the right to deny samples to any person that appears to be intoxicated.
Anyone who appears to be intoxicated can be asked to leave the event.

Ticket Questions

Where can I buy Brew Fest Tickets?
You can now purchase DISCOUNT tickets online through the Brew Fest tickets page. Discount tickets can also be purchased locally at the Rohrbach Brewing Company, area Wegmans, Beers of the World, & Southtown Beverage.

Can I upgrade a general admission ticket to VIP?
Details to Follow. Make sure you're a Brew Fest Insider! You can sign up on the home page. Brew Fest Insiders get first dibs on VIP tickets and special discounts .

Are ticket sales capped to keep the lines down?
Yes.

What does a ticket buy?
Admission to Brew Fest, starting a 6PM, and 20 Sampling Tickets.

If I order tickets online on 9/21/11 and do not receive
them I the mail by Friday?
If tickets were purchased AFTER Wednesday 9/21/11 at 12:00 PM ET they will be on hold at the Frontier Field will call window. Please bring appropriate ID.

Why did you decide to raise the price SO HIGH?
The costs to run Brew Fest have gone up substantially in recent years. The biggest expense comes from the New York State (NYS) Liquor Authority requiring all BREW FESTS in New York State to purchase their beer. At one time, the beer was donated. Beer donations are no longer possible.

The 2011 FC Brew Fest pricing is at or below most other brew fest in NYS. Most important, the event is organized to help raise money for Holiday Outreach.

Online Ticket Sales AFTER 9/21

If tickets are purchased online and not received in the mail prior to Friday, do we need to bring a printed receipt?

Please go to the will call window and bring your valid government issues photo ID.
(e.g. Current Driver's License, Military Photo ID, or US Passport)

If I leave something in the car, can I go out and get back in?
There is no re-entry into the event. Please plan accordingly.

Can I bring in bottled water?
No.

Where does the event actually take place at Frontier Field?
Weather permitting, Brewfest will take place ON the baseball field!

If I'm attacked by flying monkeys, can I expect to be saved by ruby slippers or a healthy dose of poppy pollen?

Ruby slippers because they worked for Dorothy. Plus, some people might be allergic to the Poppy Pollen.

Parking

How much is the parking cost?
$5 Cash for the Kodak "D" lot. Street parking is FREE where available. Please carefully check for NO PARKING/NO STANDING areas.

Lot D is framed by Morrie Silver Way, Oak Street, Brown Street and Verona Street. It's an enormous lot capable of housing several hundred vehicles, but not all of its gates are accessible to fans. When approaching this lot, look for stadium officials directing traffic and signs indicating game-day parking. If you don't enter the lot at one of these entrances, you may be faced with a Kodak employee swipe card system and a gate that won't open for you.

Is there a parking fee for the Brew Fest?
Yes for General Admission and DD ticket holders. The cost is $5 per CAR. Please bring CASH!

Do you have Handicap Parking available?
Handicapped parking is available at all the paid parking lots.

Where do volunteers park?
All volunteers are responsible for their own parking. Unfortunately we can't offer free parking for volunteers.

I have purchased VIP tickets. If our driver is unable to drive us home, will we be able to leave the car in the parking lot overnight?
Yes. The Kodak Lot is open all night. But your vehicle at your own risk. No overnight parking in VIP (Stadium Lot). State Street Garage in High Falls is a 24 Hour Lot. Any parking is at your own risk!

I have VIP parking but plan to take a cab home. Can I leave my car in the Frontier lot overnight?
No. Kodak "D" lot is ok.

Taxi & Shuttle Bus Service

Will there be taxi or shuttle bus service?
There are shuttle bus going East and one bus going West. Each bus holds 25 people and first come / first serve. The cost is $10 CASH per person. No credit cards. The shuttle bus start running at 8:00 PM and last run is 9:30 PM. You can purchase shuttle bus tickets at the MVP Guest Services desk. First come, first serve.

Do any of the hotels in the immediate area offer Shuttle Service to and from the Brew Fest?
The Rochester Plaza will run a shuttle bus to and from the event. Please contact the Rochester Plaza for details.

What are the VIP Brews?

When I printed out the list of breweries, it printed out the Flower City logo, but nothing else. Why?
Please check your Printer settings.

In one of the videos, the gentleman suggests remembering which of the beer types you like and those you don't care to try again- is there any kind of list available that we can use to make notes for future reference?

Weather

What will happen on the field in the event of rain?
Brewfest is a rain or shine event. We have a plan for adverse weather. The beer will still taste great if it is raining. Some of the area is covered. Please plan according because it is a rain or shine event.

Will you promise there will be no SNOW?
We promise, no snow.

Can I bring an umbrella?
Yes. Please plan on typical Rochester weather, which changes about every five minutes. In all seriousness please plan and dress accordingly.

Designated Driver Tickets

How much are Designated Driver (DD) tickets?
$10. They will not sell out.

What does the Designated Driver ticket include?
The Designated Driver tickets includes admission to the event. Designated Driver ticket holders will not have access to the VIP area. Non-alcoholic beverages and food can be purchased from onsite vendors.

Designated Driver tickets tickets are ONLY available for purchase at the door/ day of the event. They cannot be purchased online or elsewhere.

Will there be a special line for buying DD tickets so we don't have to wait in long lines?
No.

Is there going to be more venders for soda this year or something else for the DD other than the great fun of laughing at friends and family as they sample the beer?
There will be 3 nonalcoholic stands for sampling while supplies last. There will be plenty of non-alcoholic beverages to purchase.

Brew Fest Hours

What time does Brew Fest Open?
Gates open at 5 PM for VIP Ticket holders ONLY. For general admission ticket holders, the gates open at 6 PM.

What time does Brew Fest END?
Brew Fest ends promptly at 9 PM.

What time will General Admission ticket holders be allowed in?
6 PM.

Admission Questions

Can I bring a back pack or food?
No Backpacks or outside food is permitted.  Food is available for purchase on site. All bags and purses are subject to search prior to entry.

At the last brew fest... the start time was 6:00, but we didn't get in for a while because the line was so long. I am concerned because I know it is shortened to 6-9 this year. Would you considering allowing people in when they arrive and not allowing the beer vendors to serve until 6:00?
The vendors will be serving our VIP customers from 5 PM to 6 PM. Please buy your tickets early, that will minimize wait times. We have changed the entry procedure for much quicker access and opened more entry lines to minimize the wait.

Can I bring or use my own glass?
No. But you do get a great Brew Fest sampling glass with admission.

Can I bring my own folding chairs?
No. But there are some area in the concourse area that have picnic tables and chairs.

Required ID

Is there an age restriction?
Persons Under 21 are NOT permitted at the event, including children and babies.

What type of photo identification do I need to bring?
The following are the only accepted form of identification:
• Valid Driver License
• Current Passport
• Military or Government Photo ID
*Expired photo identification of any kind cannot be used to validate your age.
Student identification cards are NOT a valid form of identification.

This may or may not be a stupid question, BUT, if I have an expired Driver's License, with my photo on it, (that still looks like me), why is that not valid proof of my age? My birth date didn't change when my DL expired...and I would prefer to keep my current license IN the car, as opposed to carrying it around and possibly losing it.
A current government issued photo ID is the ONLY Valid ID. You're going to have to bring your license.

What is included with a VIP ticket?
• Gates open ONE HOUR EARLY at 5:00 PM for VIP ticket holders.
• FREE VIP Parking at the Frontier Field VIP Lot.
• Catered Food from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the VIP Area.
• Covered VIP Area (opens at 6PM) where you can mix & mingle with friends.
• Sample Exclusive Premium Beers not available to anyone else at Brewfest.

Is there a parking lot designated for those who have purchased VIP tickets?
Yes for VIP Parking pass holder ONLY. The VIP ticket is at the Stadium VIP lot with FREE overflow parking at the adjacent Kodak "D" lot.

What is included in the catered dinner for VIP's?
• Paninis
• Deviled Eggs
• Chicken Skewers
• Beef Skewers
• Cheeseburger Sliders
• BBQ Pork
• Stuffed Button Mushroom Caps
• BLT Pinwheels
• Dessert: Brownies

Can I upgrade a general admission ticket to VIP?
ONLY GA Customers have a one time opportunity to upgrade their tickets. Check your email. We have a sponsor that decided not to use their VIP tickets, so we're offering those ticket to our GA customers. There are ONLY 22 VIP tickets left.

I have VIP parking. Will I be able to leave my car overnight in the VIP ( Frontier Field - Stadium Lot)?
No. But, you can overnight park in the Kodak "D" Lot.

Will there be seating in the VIP area?
Limited seeing will be available.

Sample Tickets and Brew Fest

Do you use a ticket system to limit the amount of sample drinks?
Yes, per New York State Liquor Authority law. The New York State Liquor Authority requires ALL New York brew fests to CONTROL the number of samples. 20 Sampling Tickets come with your ticket. You can inquire additional sampling, after you've used your 20 tickets at MVP Guest Service desk. Located behind home plate in the concourse.

How large are the samples and how many do you get?
You get one 2 ounce pour per ticket and 20 sample tickets.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We reserve the right to refuse alcohol to anyone who appears intoxicated even if their tickets have not been completely exhausted.

Onsite Brewery Questions

Will the participants have their beverage available for purchase?
No. Sampling only.

How will I know where I can buy the beers locally?
Please ask the individual Brewers.

Can I bring a growler for some goodness to go?
No, sorry. No alcohol can leave the gated venue area.

HOTEL PACKAGES

Is there a Preferred Hotel or Package Deals?
Our preferred hotel is the Rochester Plaza Hotel and Conference Center. The hotel is within walking distance of the event.

Food & Drink Questions

Can I bring a back pack or food?

Will there be food?
Yes. Food will be available for purchase.

Will the stadium concession stands be open?
Yes and ATMs are available on site. Food will also be available for purchase on the field.

Can we bring in a bottle of water?
No. There are water fountains near the bathroom and bottled water will be available for purchase.

Can we wear a ring of pretzels around our neck?
Sorry, no outside food can be brought in ... you can purchase big soft pretzels at the event.

Can I bring my own folding chairs?
No. But there are some area in the concourse area that have picnic tables and chairs.

MISCELLANOUS Questions

Are there ATMs on site?
Yes, ATM machines will be available on-site.

Can I smoke?
Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Can I bring a camera?
You are welcome to bring a camera.

Can I buy a FC Brewfest volunteer t-shirt?
Nope. Volunteer shirts are only for volunteers.

Can I get on the baseball field or into the stands?
If the weather permits, the 2011 Brewfest will take place on the field!

Will take-away beer (bottles/cases) be available for sale?
No.

Why doesn't the Brew Fest take place on Saturday?
Because we find attendance better on Friday night.

Will the Brewer's Fest be held about the same time each year?
It is too early to answer that question. As soon as the 2012 is set we will email you.

Will Empire Brewing be there?
No. Unfortunately they have other obligations.
